The serial number look-up isn't available anymore and some of the serial numbering conventions aren't completely accurate for all models. The best suggestion I can offer is to contact Taurus. If you still have the box, the date is on it.

It's the new date code adopted from October, 2019.
Two first letters are the year, starting with AA in 2019. AD means 2022.

Third letter is the month (from A to L). J means October.

my serial number starts with ADM. Taurus told me That my 605 Manufacture date was November 28th 2022. For reference.

 

What are "Remanufactured guns"?
Are these "refurbished"?

I never heard of them before.

 

Guns rejected in Quality Control or that returned to factory under warranty, that were repaired, tested again and finally approved by QC.

 

The reason that I ask is, I recently bought a Taurus that is 29 years old, but looks new.
It came in a white and orange Taurus cardboard box. The label on the box is for an G2, and nothing for my model.
So now I'm wondering if my Taurus PT92C was refurbished by the company and just put into any available box and resold to an FFL.
Not that it matters much it shoots good and it is a compact.

 

Up in the upper left where it says "Factory Int" it would say something like "Factory Refurb". But, since your box doesn't match your gun, it doesn't mean anything. I doubt your gun came from the factory in that box. It is possible you could contact Taurus customer service with your serial number and see if they know if it was a refurb. They "should" know that, but I don't know if the guy on the other end of the phone would know.

In fact, this serial number scheme, like the one starting with "1D", does not appear in the manuals I have. I have already spoken to the author of the manuals, Dr. Domingos Tocchetto, about publishing an English version for the USA. He approved the idea and said it would include data on firearms that are not available in Brazil.

There is a birthmark on the muzzle end of the frame. It can be seen with the slide removed.

This one says April 2020 and coincides with the ABD serial number prefix on my G2C.

I just received a Taurus P111 Millennium G2 9mm as a gift. It is definitely an older model, but I am struggling to locate a website anywhere that tells me whether or not my serial number is part of the recall. It starts with TJP. I don't believe the G2 is part of the recall.

I have a Taurus 65 revolver. pre-suffix 5 digit serial number. Starts with 65, it's stainless, 4" barrel, wood grip, has the screw up near hammer so it's a 5 screw frame, right? can anyone retrieve any information on that? My digging points towards early 80's but I'm extremely new to Taurus revolvers, could be way wrong.

I'm not sure about an optics plate mount. Mine has Heinie sight on it and it shoots pretty darn good as it is.

 

Mine 2007 and have Heine sights that were 3" to left at 10yds so adjusted a tad and are now perfect. Bought new in 07 and still not sure if I like the sights, yet they're still on and Still my favorite 45 auto!
