I have two 462s. One is blued from 2004 and not subject to recall. The other is polished stainless from 2016 and is subject to the recall. I am not sure that I want to send it back. I'll think about it.

I'd be more afraid of getting a replacement gun. Mine is one of those gems.

I have an 851 and a 971 both bought around the same time . The 851 has a recall the 971 does not. Weird!

Yeah! Mine is not covered by the recall.

Not enough information from Taurus on what they plan on doing with the guns. I want to know what the plan is before I send them my Rossi. No telling how long they might keep it before deciding what to do.

Saying the same. Afterall, look at all the PT145 Millenium Pro's people never got back and only offered $200.00 or a 9mm. I don't go around dropping guns! I also don't give them back to manufacturers for less than they're worth. Still have my PT145 Pro.

got the recall notice on the 17th.. My 972 is part of the this.. I called that day to ask about turned around time.. As expected was not given an answer.. It took Taurus 4 months to get my pt111 back to me.. RIDICULOUS... Chances are I will send my in at some point..but Deer season in quickly approaching and this is my primary whitetail gun right now.. Soon as I find some sort of replacement I will consider sending mine in.. Maybe a 300 BLK pistol would be fun.

For the record I did *not* get an email, and I am certain that Taurus *does* have my email address. They must have bought an email list of likely owners from somebody. The NRA maybe?

As others have said, I sure hope they don't "keep" your gun and offer you a replacement instead! Keep both eyes open.

All seriousness, what do you suspect they would send as a replacement? I just found my email today. R461 I was going to send it back tomorrow... actually wouldn’t mind a pistol in trade.

Let's hope it will be a doable/cheap fix for Taurus and your turnaround time will be minimal.

I called them yesterday. Have a missing yoke screw and spring (461). Believe it or not, they were willing to ship the parts rather then send it in, great news. Until I provided the serial number. Then they informed me, since it's subject to the safety recall, it will be taken care of it then. And the estimated turnaround was stated to be 12 weeks. We all take these times with a grain of salt, but that is the starting point. And also to expect the labels to go out in two weeks for the first groupings of those who registered. Time will tell.

I just checked mine and my R 462 02 is on the list...I am hoping that the turnaround time is less than the 16 months it took them to screw me on my PT145 which morphed into a PT 111 G2 after many, many broken promises.

After all this time I finally get a letter today from Rossi about the recall . Nawww , not sending it in . Nothing wrong with mine and as I said before I don't go around dropping guns and no one plays with my guns so no chance in them dropping it either . Keeping my pretty gun !!

Mark40...That's kind of like going to your doctor for a cold/cough thinking "I'll be out of here within the hour". Then he holds up the xray and says "Now about that spot..."

Dang it! Mines on the list too.... :(

After reading some posts, I am torn now. I have never carried my snubbie and if one wanted to there's always the method of carrying with the hammer on an empty cylinder like before disconnects were invented. If I was certain that it would come back better than it is now...or replaced with a better revolver like one of the time tested Taurus models then it would be an easier choice. It comes down to a matter of faith, which has been severely abused with the last debacle. I may sit this one out for a while to see what others experience.

So... has anyone in this boat we share received shipping tags or other follow-up about returning our handguns or what they will be repairing?
