So while shooting some clays, my buddy was shooting my maverick 88 pump gun. I don't know if he short stroked it or not, but the action jammed in the back position. There was an empty still under the extractor, but the action was stuck. There was one shell left in the mag tube as well. So I got the empty out of the extractor and the last shell out of the tube, but the action was still stuck. When I got home, I got the action to go back forward, and noticed the hinged door that covers the chamber was stuck. I could pump the action but it was tight and I noticed the door didn't move up and down. It appears that door being stuck might be the culprit. I haven't had time to dig around too much, but planned on looking up a total disassembly and try getting it apart laterthis evening.
Has this happened to anyone on a maverick or mossy, and know what might have caused it in order to avoid it again. Also any ideas on how to get it unstuck without disassembling the whole thing? Again, it is completely unloaded and the action is now forward. And I haven't got a pic yet.
Thanks in advance.
