I had about 15 mins of evening light left, so ran a few mags through the new GX4. I wanted to get these impressions down before I forgot. A full review is still to come. Lets begin with my initial concerns:
- Echoes of the Sig P365 initial issue, also GB guns was first to mention this concern. These are factory S&B 115 RN, do you see the primer issues. Striker drag and swelling, then the smileys on the brass. IMO Taurus needs to bore the chamber out a bit more to provide more case support. I will inspect the striker after a few hundred rounds.
- Ignore what the super strong reviewers are saying, this puppy is a handful. About 10-20% more felt recoil for me than the Sig P365,,caveat - the grip being better in ergo and stippling are partly to blame. Because it allows you to get a great grip, but the rough stippling will make you feel that dance with physics more. Pay heed - this is not a pistol for beginners or weak handed. My next session I will try the smaller grip module, to see if that changes my impressions. Of course with my shooting gloves - no problem.
