TX-22 Compact optic choices?

Ok, so I decided to install an optic on my TX-22 Compact and ended up getting a Cyelee CAT green dot on Amazon. Turns out it didn't have enough vertical adjustment to bring the dot down to an acceptable lever, so back it's going. I'm curious to see what optics other folks have run successfully on the Compact? I don't want to lay out the cash for a 407K if I don't have to, so any other experiences would be appreciated.

TIA...

I recently bought the Taurus TX22 Compact with in factory-installed Riton MPRD2 red dot. The screws mounting the optic were so short it vibrated loose twice in spite of blue thread lock before I figured it out. Gunsmith at the range remounted with the proper screws, and the third session was without problems.

900 rounds so far, and the only glitch attributable the pistol was a single failure to strip a round out of the magazine. Likely my carelessness in loading the double stack.

One failure to eject what was obviously a dud round (Winchester 555); eight failures to fire with what appeared to be good primer strikes. Overall failure rate right at 1% with typical range ammo.

Accuracy of the Riton whenever it was tight was very good. Inside 3" circle at 7 yards offhand.

Ran one mag of Federal Punch just to make sure it would feed. It did - as fast as I could pull the trigger.

>I've seen two factory TX22 compacts with the Riton RD<<
I think the operative word here is "factory", and I suspect they too found out the Riton screws were too short and substituted their own. As stated earlier, the screws on my Riton were just not long enough, whereas those supplied with my Holosun 407K were perfect.

My guess was that Riton shipped the optics to Taurus in individual units, including the proper screws, but Taurus used its own screws - the ones designed for mounting the filler plate installed when no optic is mounted. Those screws are much shorter because the filler plate is much thinner than the base of the optic. The mounting plate, minus any screws, was in a small, open plastic sleeve in the gun case as delivered. So far, no one at Taurus has satisfied my curiosity, but no matter - the pistol works flawlessly, as does the remounted optic. I don't sweat the small stuff.

The screws did not bottom out, I guess that the amount of torque specified was more than I expected 10-15 In/Lbs to be. I've checked screws on other guns with optics premounted on them and the torque screwdriver didn't click on most of them, so the screws were already tight enough, or more. The Cyelee seems to be a pretty decent optic. I have a red dot on one gun, a green dot on another. I am at the point that I won't be buying anymore red dots unless the deal is just crazy cheap.

I have the exact same torque screwdriver, and it looks like the guy in the video was finding it took more effort than he expected, like I do, every time. There are a couple of guns I have that I would need to have the slide machined for an optic, so I'm not looking to put one on those, but when I get a Sig 365, I have a green dot that supposedly will go right on. Hopefully. There are way too many mounting variants on optics, IMHO, a larger and a smaller one would be fine, you don't need a half dozen, it's just a way to mount the thing, not something that affects anything else but mounting it. Kind of like how MS changes Windows for no sane reason every time a new version comes out. Keep everything in the SAME PLACE, don't move it for no real reason, and don't change the name of where it's at!
