Here is my solution to this exasperating problem. After doing a web search, most people identify the screw as the culprit. From my work on this I found that the main issue is the height of the nut embedded under the front sight that slides into the top of the barrel to position it. This nut extends too far down into the hole in the slide and screws keep bottoming out! Not knowing this yet, I decided to tackle the issue identified on several forums of the threads not continuuing all the way to the screw cap causing the screw to bottom out too early. I did try the original screw, which did tighten closer than the new ones, but not enough. Next, I decided to remove the top area of one of the new screws supplied by Ameriglo so that the screw would fit tight against the sight. With a very thin file, I decreased the screw diameter about .5 mm to allow the screw head to lay flush to the bottom of the sight. There was ample amount of threads left on the screw to still hold it down(see image). After this I was excited to screw down my sight and finish the install. BUT, even with the screw head lying flush to the sight bottom, it still left a tiny bit of wiggle room, that was not acceptable for me. So, I reasoned that the nut itself protruded too far into the front of the slide it would not allow a screw to pull the sight tight. Once again I got my small file and reduced the height of the nut from about .25mm to 5.mm, give or take(see image). I left the .5mm hoping that would be enough, so that it would still drop into the slide centering hole. With this combination, Voila, the screw was able to tighten the sight. I disassembled and applied blue threadlocker to the inside of the front sight threads, the inside hole of the slide and the threads on the screw. I made sure not to torque the screw too much to break it off while finishing the install. Some leaked out from under the sight, which I thought would be fine, and wiped it off with a QuTip. Time will tell if the sight will stay tight over time. I was so disgusted that Taurus would sell a product like this on their website and that Ameriglo would release a sight that would not properly fit the G3. I hope Ameriglo will fix this by decreasing the height of the nut to .5mm and help others avoid this frustrating situation. I hope this help others.
