Taurus PT100 Trigger Slack

Hello Good Day!

I am newbie in terms of gun ownership and gun handing. My gun is a Taurus PT100 and my concern is in its trigger. I found it too deep for me to pull the trigger before it will totally engage. Is there any way I can do to adjust it. I'd like it to adjust it in a way it will become softer to pull, less slack, and be able to use a double tap in pulling the trigger. Any suggestion pls.. :) TNX

Just sharing that Taurus 92 and Beretta 92 magazines can be modified to work in both guns with one hole configuration.

I have a 35-round magazine that functions reliably in both my Taurus PT92AFS as well as my Beretta 92FS Inox.
The shape of the cutout for the mag catch accommodates both Taurus and Beretta, since the Taurus catches more on the narrow end of the magazine while the Beretta extends more onto the wider side of the magazine.
I have replicated this hole cutout shape on a factory Taurus magazine and it functions reliably in my Beretta as well as the Taurus.

I was supposed to send mine back to Taurus, but FedEx has changed the rules. I also read some horror stories about the foremention's cs.. So I might just get new barrel, to be sure. I'm looking at one from EKFiredragon. Anybody have experience with them? Midwest has a couple too. Who's do you think is best?
While looking, I saw a sweet 22 conversion kit from Ciener on Midway. What do you think?

thanks ahead of time
I bought the Fire Dragon ported 9mm barrel it requires some fitting but it shoots very well, it is expensive and you need to order the locking block if you want to use your old barrel at some point. All the fitting I had to do was on the locking block.

hey thanks for this info will come in handy.
directed at bobkart.... got a few beretta mags im going to play with see how it goes

This is a great thread. I appreciate that it is a sticky.

Can anyone confirm for me if magazine baseplates will interchange between Beretta and Taurus?

I need Taurus PT92 baseplates but can't find them, wondering if I can use Beretta 92 baseplates on Taurus mags.

Specifically, I want to get steel baseplates for my nickel MecGar PT92 magazines. They come with black gaudy plastic baseplates which I do not like.

Hi McE.

I have both the Taurus (OEM) 17-round magazines and the MecGar 18-round magazines for the Taurus (in 9mm).

I just swapped the baseplates between one of each and they fit just fine.

Not quite what you asked, but I also happen to know that the MecGar 18-round magazines for Beretta are identical to the Mec-Gar 18-round magazines for the Taurus, except for the location of the magazine catch hole. I know this because I once ordered the Beretta version by mistake (part number is just one letter different).

So taking those two observations together, that should indicate that what you're wanting to do will work. The only way I can see it not working is if the *Nickel* MecGar magazines somehow use a different baseplate than their AFC versions (what I have).

I'm suspecting the nickel ones are no different.

However, it seems the only Beretta baseplates I can find are plastic with a metal insert. They are cheap even from Beretta, but not what I'm looking for.

I sold 5 of my Taurus OEM mags and regret it now. I polished the OEM baseplate and it looked really good on the nickel mag with my PT92AFS. Here it is on an OEM 17-rounder, before I sold them off to go with all Mec Gar nickel mags.

PT92AF - don't lose or damage # 3.31 safety spring - restricted item. I know generally where mine went, but waiting on a rolling magnet before vacuuming. LOL

Also, according to chat line this AM - no stock on 5.2 and 5.3 left upper grip screw & bushing - so don't bugger bushing! LOL

EDIT: somewhat happy ending. Rolling magnet arrive; assembled and began the roll around over the same areas I had crawled around on all fours. Picked up lots of broken staples (I usually get those by stepping on the barefoot) and paper clips. Finally, under my work desk I hear a "clink" - something snapped to the magnet - viola it was my safety spring.

Unfortunately, I buggered the bushing and will install it with Red loctite, plus I fractured the left pearl grip, so it's now useless, so my PT92AF now is similar to a Oreo cookie with one white and one black grip. LOL

Hi. New to the forums here. I have an odd question, I have both a beretta 92 and keltec sub2k the share magazines. I've always wanted to pick up a Taurus 92 cause I really like the polished look. It seems the magazines can be modified to work in beretta and Taurus, but will those magazines still work in the keltec?

Thanks

I have a beretta barrel that I keep at home to use in my Taurus guns. It comes out if I sell or trade, goes in the new one if I buy or trade for a new one. I think it's a beretta, it's very accurate and has a nice chamber barely in spec on the high end. I used to swap mag catches too, but I modified a few GI mags so now I just run those.

the mag catch is interchangeable? Does that mean you could run beretta mags in them?
