PT92: trigger slap, and spring weight questions

My PT92AF has a very inconsistent and mildly painful trigger. Sometimes heavy, sometimes not, the trigger always seems to numb the tip of my finger after 1-20 round mag. Any experiences, solutions, recommendations?

Also, I am running a PT92C slide assembly on the 92AFS Fullsize slide (trigger issues exist regardless of which upper I use) and I am using a Beretta 92 Centurion Reciol rod and a 16# Wolff Recoil spring. They list the stock for the Beretta Centurion at #14, so I was hoping the 16# would provide more frame protection while still being reliable. I still felt like the recoil was greater than it should have been. Any body know the stock recoil spring weight for a PT92C (Compact)? I was wondering it moving to an 18# spring would help and still be reliable.

Despite these issues I found the pistol to be both reliable and accurate. The trigger is the only thing holding it back, really.

The Problem

Two things can cause trigger slap. In the first case, trigger slap is caused when the disconnector cannot move backward far enough to clear the hammer. In the more common case, the disconnector moves too far (over travel) and impacts the trigger, forcing the trigger to rotate. In either case, this force is translated through trigger where it snaps the shooters finger, causing discomfort.

The Fix

Examine all related parts to find exactly what parts are out of spec. If I were to bet, your Trigger Linkage Return Spring under the Right Grip Panel is weak. But nothing is certain here.
