That is a cool old pistol, with a cow logo no less. If I ever see one of those for sale it's mine!

I only found this info...

The Model 94 was introduced in 1973. It had a 6-round cylinder and was available in only one barrel length (6 inches). It had a micrometer adjustable rear sight, and could be blued or nickel-plated, with wooden grips.

I called Taurus CS and they were unable to help with any info...
since my gun was imported by INT in Miami.

The most they can guestimate is that it is a 25-30 year old gun.

The pic I posted is not my actual gun, just used that pic as it was the only one I could find of the "cow' logo.

I think I have to find a Blue Book of Gun Values somewhere to get a better idea of when Taurus guns with this logo were manufactured.

Not much info available on the web regarding these....

Good looking wheel gun. The Bull looks like a Polled Hereford Bull. Polled Bulls have no horns, maybe the original founder of Taurus raised them, and used them for a logo. It makes me curious to know more.
Looks like it may have a recessed cylinder.

Thanks! I initially bought it just for my son to shoot 22LR, but am growing fonder of the older unique gun.
Interesting info about the Bull. I figured someone that worked at Taurus would possess some more knowledge/history on the matter, but it wasn't so.
Cylinder is recessed- Some who fancy older revolvers like this...

That does seem like an older Taurus. I have one with a 4" barrel and adjustable rear site that I bought in 1977. Mine has the horned bull on the grips. My serial # is 86###. It seems yours would be older still.

Mine starts with 69###, so now we at least know it was man. prior to 1977...
So most probably closer to 35+ years old.

 

I'll bet that is one sweet shooting accurate 22, very close resemblence to the S & W version.

I've only test fired for function thus far.
6 very smooth shots in a small group, but at very close distance of 5yds.
I think it most resembles the S&W model 34, but not sure.

Shot it on Sunday, function was great, but was a bit upset with groupings at first.
Expected more from .22LR at 15yds.
Perhaps it is user error, and just need more practice with it.

Anyhow, the true judge (my son) will shoot next weekend.
If he doesn't take to it, I may have a really nice condition (minus some bluing wear on barrel) collector piece up for sale

I really can't imagine selling an older model 94 if I had one. Just a classic I would have to keep if it hasn't been shot out. Kind of like an old hound, might just keep it for company when it no longer wants to hunt.

I Shot this one a few years back, and I was not too accurate with.But that was probably me, more than the .22.
I will keep this one in the safe, for the next generation.

 

Nice old revolver. I'd keep it since it's a .22 and it's an oldie.

I have a chance to pick up a newer 94 (9 shot I believe). I'll know more about that revolver next week.

 

My first post. I was looking for information on a mod.94 Taurus and ran across your post. Mine is identical to yours. Very reminiscent of the model 31 S&W (32 cal.). I used to own one of those, too. My ser.# is 67***. Very good feel but, like another reader, hard to pull trigger when thumb cocked. 4" barrel. Hereford bull head (not polled has horns). Recessed cylinder, adjustable rear sight. Int. dist., Miami Fla. Reads Forjas Taurus on one side of barrel, 22LR on other side of barrel. Grips read BraSil and receiver reads BraZil. Any more help would be appreciated. Thanks.
