Will it still rattle if you remove one round?
That's what a lot of folks do if they can not live with the rattle.

 

I know my 12 round pt111 mags will rattle with 12, 10, 8, 6 rounds but not with an uneven number. I find it really odd, but I can live with it either way.

Thanks, guys. The mag rattles with any more than six rounds in it. I’ll try the even/odd thing to see if that works.

 

I have the same issue with my 15 100% of the time. Same with the anything more than 6. I've cleaned it, scored it, smoothed it, nothing changed. Loaded it and left it that way with 10 and 15 for months. I've cycled close to 800 rds through it all to no avail. If you figure it out let me know.

 

If I'm in a life or death situation I am not going to be worried if the magazines are rattling just that they are functioning.

 

In a daily carry situation, its like having an oversized pack of tictacs on your hip, or a jar of change in your car, call it whatever.. it's not right, it draws attention, it worries me that something will not function..and it's super annoying at the very least. I've resorted to just the 17. The 15 is at home in the range bag.

 

I don't have any guns that do that anymore. I had a Kel Tec P-11 that did that, and an SCCY that did that, but don't have them anymore.

ETA: It works like a charm. Two mags, maybe five minutes, and the rattle is gone. Thanks again for posting.

 

I don't know the science of it, but that is very common with all brands of mags. I only know it's something to do with the number of rounds in it. I've rapped them sharply against something and had success with some of them.... the rest I just live with. Not about to reduce my ammo load for a "rattle."

 

Slap the mag on your hands to seat the rounds. If you still have problems rattling call Taurus and see what they can do for you.

 

I have no mag rattle with my G3.
