I was impressed by Shooting The Bull's video from a few years ago on the Lehigh Defense Maximum Expansion rounds. Unfortunately it seems you just can't walk into your nearest Dick's Sporting Goods and buy a box. You can order them mail order direct from Lehigh Defense on their website but it's close to $50 a box including shipping for a box of 12. Anybody know any nationally known dealer that carries this round such as Cabelas, Bass Pro Shops, etc? I've tried Gander Mountain with no luck. Here's the video I was talking about for those who haven't seen it.

Good Granny! Did you see the follow up tests on denim/wound channel and accuracy? I looks like they hit this one out of the park!

Now THAT is interesting. He makes the usual mistake of assuming that penetration in gel equates to penetration distance in a person. I'll admit that might be closer to correct with the ribs and heart in there, but still, if you don't realize that gel is just a uniform, reproducible test medium and gel distance isn't meant to be directly converted to penetration in humans, your video loses some crediblity. The RIP ammof folks are a great example of displaying this ignorance in some of their videos.

But I'd love more of these types of gel tests. This is a lot more meaningful.

Yep, he wants $37 for the ammo and $13 to ship. Too expensive for me.

Yea, it kind lost any statistical value for me when the bal gel fell apart, kind of wonder what the mixing ratio was and at what temperature the gel block was at when it was tested.
Kind of like me shooting the feared milk jugs with water.

Well gel or not these do appear that they would cause some serious damage. The added problem for me is I'm not carrying loads that my life depends on without shooting at least 50 through my edc. I also have two edc's. With this being a somewhat unusual round I would never think of skipping that step. The way I figure it, it would cost me $516 to buy a hundred practice rounds plus 24 for carry. I guess I could get a quantity discount but obviously not an option.

Same problem for me, otherwise I would be carrying Lehigh Defense ammo.

Let's face it, the expansion of any round is worthless if the round itself is not KNOWN to be reliable in our carry sidearm.

Ruger sells similar. Don't know who makes it for them. They are essentially a$1/round. I bought one box of them and one box of Hydra Shocks...which I believe is an outstanding, field proven round. Both are for my new Bersa Thunder .380 should I choose to carry it.

Ventura Munitions doesn't have any right now.

Winchester PDX1 is a good second choice.

Shoot the Bull does an excellent review on this and the Lehigh Defense .45 LC.

PDX1 is more affordable and often available at Walmart.
