I believe all new Taurus 1911's have the firing pin block, which makes them series 80's.

And if you want the trigger lighter, the one it came with is fine, you need to go
on youtube or get a smithing book to lighten trigger pull!

Use the search feature I did a thread on 1911 trigger jobs, I think it was about 4 years ago. I have since quit using my old Ed Brown sear jig and now use the TR Jig. Who did you buy the pistol from ? Looks like they did a melt job on the slide but left the frame alone, may have changed out parts already.

 

yea looks like new re-blue job as well, No PT1911 in modern history has that kind of finish on it!
and yes as other have mentioned IF it a Taurus 1911 it is a so called series 80, although that really has a lot more differences than just the firing pin safety, you might want to research all this before starting work on it.

 

For the guys who don't know, that's a factory finish on that 1911. I have one of my own. They also have a commander version with a rainbow/prizm finish on the slide. Looks nice. Along with that they have cerakote American Flag, Desert Sand, and OD Green options too. For the PT92 guys, they have a polished blue slide version of that, too.

The Blue and silver finish is a STOCK FINISH for the PT1911's as one of the color options they offer. the PT92s also have similar colors available. Back in October, I picked up a 92 with Blue on Black frame for my son in law. They are G-10 grips as well.
(I know it's not a 1911)
