Any update on this "trigger issue"? I was about to buy one when the guy at the sales counter warned me about it and told me to search online about the issue. Not liking what I've seen or read. I also hear that Taurus was going to release an Optics Ready version so I might wait.
Thanks
I Have not seen anymore than what was first out , and had not heard anymore, it maybe good to wait if you want the Optic version , Im Happy with the One I have, on mine I have Set of TruGlo Tritium/fiber Optic sights, which works good for Me, with so many options out there , The Choice is yours !!!

Just received the GX4. Overall the gun is impressive and very easy to completely disassemble. My only concern is the trigger sear block and the interaction with the sear. My pull weight was 7.5 lbs. So I polished the crap out of anything that rubs across something else. 6.5 lbs now. Still not satisfied. Tore it down a few more times and paid attention the the sear housing channels. Under a loop, holy cow, that's rough machining. This is an area that you can really screw up by removing too much material to smooth it out. I'm not talking scratches or plain machine marks, but deep cuts.

I'll contact Taurus to see if they'll send me another block since there's no fix for this one. On a positive note, once you hit that solid wall on the GX4, there's no creep before the break. This could be compromised by removing material to smooth it out.

If you have info to help me figure this out, that would be awesome.

Happy Veterans Day. Navy here.

Contacted Taurus. What I requested, sear block, is on their restricted list, so I need to send in the gun. Oh well, just some delays and hopefully they'll send me back a fixed gun for a fresh start.

I did not take the Trigger assembly apart, Is the Gun apart? or is it the return spring that slips in the Chassie nib?

It just slides on the chassis nib you can use a pair of your wifes eyebrow tweezers to put it , if you have sausage fingers like me,

BigAl, really glad to see all your post about the GX4. I came to this forum to learn as much as possible about this fine firearm and really disappointed as there are not much post about any Taurus firearms and especially the GX4 which is doing so well. Keep up the great work. There are many outside of this forum that love the gun and want to learn as much as possible. It would be nice if the Mod's could have a single devoted sub Tread on this gun. More interesting than coffee.

By the way,
Red Dot on GX4. Well, the red dot came in and had a good time shooting it. I put on the Sight Mark which was a simple install on the Toro slide. It makes for a nice small package for carry. With years of good point and shoot skills from the past, I still am having a hard time adjusting to the Red Dots.(own the Sig 365XL Romeozero as well) . I took the GX4 to the indoor range this after noon and will be shooting Steel on Sunday. The GX4 is a marvelous shooter, and the Sight Mark did it's job. Stays on all the time, simple adjustments etc. Later down the Road, IF and when I choose to go strictly RMR, I might up grade the sight. At this point, I do not believe they will ever Supersede good Point and Shoot skills below 15 yds. But I am open minded and will spend some dedicated time to learn.
I did get a chance to shoot a friends Red dot with a Holoson and that model had a unique Red dot that I found easier to quickly acquire target. The Sight Mark also came with a mount to fix to other guns like shotguns etc. So will keep the Sight Mark regardless.

PS. I also had another Night Fusion Night Sight come in. I really like these over my other night sights on have on other guns.

And after the order came in I got a email about their new Sights for Red dots. Since the GX4 takes Glock sights I might order one.

Just bought a GX4 today.
Now I have to wait 2-4 weeks for our "instant" background check to clear. I paid $290 + tax.

Ordered two extra 11 rnd mags and four extra 13 rnd mags.

WA State (where I live) just passed a > 10 rnd mag ban. It goes into effect July 1. So any mags I own before July are grandfathered in. I might pick up one more of each size before the deadline as I basically need a "lifetime" supply of mags for all my guns that use NORMAL capacity mags.

It really felt nice in my hand My other two micro compacts are a gen 1 shield with 9 +1 capacity (I modded the mags for +1 using magguts kits), and a Springfield Loaded Micro .45.

My other "pocket" guns are an older Taurus PT22, a North American Arms 22 revolver and a Ruger LCP. All three are good guns, but a 22 or a .380 isn't the same as a 9mm or a 45.

Ordered a holster already (urban carry) and I want to do the Talon grip mod, but need to wait until I can decide which backstrap I will be using. I put the Talon grips on my Shield and really like them. They still provid a good grip but don't chew up your skin when you re carrying IWB.

Despite what some people say about Taurus quality, I have a M94 (.22), the above mentioned PT22 and a M85CH (.38) all which have been running just fine for over 20 years. I'll probably give the 85CH to my daughter when she moves out of the house and gets her own place.

The 85CH and the Springfield Micro 45
The Micro 45 now wears CT laser grips.

I Had a PT22, the frame cracked in 3 places, Taurus sent me a 738 in its place , I think it was the Magnum 22LR that put it over the edge, I really liked that gun fun to shoot, Wont buy the Poly 22, too expensive for what it is, I got the Ruger SR22 for that , its a riot to Shoot!!!

Yes thanks, but lose that little slide catch spring (!) and you’ll,p be lost forever! Taurus can’t provide a new one and the gun will not perform well without it. The slide catch arm tends to bounce on recoil hindering slide movements just enough to bugger up the works. Remove the arm and you totally lose stay open on empty magazine.
