Be careful removing the extractor as there are three springs captured under it. The extractor pivot plunger spring is especially frogy. Lose it and your gun is down until you find a replacement.
I am assuming this is from experience? I Have not removed the extractor found no need to,

That spring retains the slide lock pin and is used for the slide release. The pin is slotted so it can be retained by the spring. To release the pin from the lower just slide the spring in the slot the way the arrow is pointing from the inside of the chassis. It releases the pin effortlessly.

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of the break down, please? The manual isn't really clear. Does the striker pin assembly hold in the safety plunger and the extractor barrel? Just trying to find out what I can before I disassemble it. I am going to cerakote the slide, the finish isn't holding up very well and I keep having to cold blue the holster wear. Is there a striker pin assembly channel liner?

Thanks for any info, Mike

There is a good YouTube video of a g3(if I remember correctly)slide take down. It uses the same setup

That Youtube video was a great video and very detailed. Did the trick, exactly the same brake down as the GX4 slide. There isn't a striker channel liner. I was able to break down the slide, CeraKote it and add new sights with those instructions.

Thanks, Mike

Hello Boys and Girls!!! Uncle Al Here, with the Breakdown on the New GX4, I Have seen a couple of Videos where People Have Had an issue with the Trigger , I Have not and I Have about 250 Rds tru it so far, and Next weekend I will be going to th Range since I am off from Work and a Long weekend Yeah!!!!! I Have fully disassemble the GX4, and Its is to say the least, a Very easy Firearm to work with as you can see from the Pictures , Ok so make sure the Gun is cleared , lets get that outa the way , View attachment 479958 View attachment 479962 View attachment 479959 Take down is done by tapping on the left side slide release barrel this come out tru the right side , bring the chassie up and position the trigger Back to clear the opening, Next is the chassie, all of the 3 pins are alittle different , one longer for the trigger, and the 2 for the sear Block, one is thicker than the other , Once you have the chassie out you can see how
easy it is, View attachment 479961 when you re assemble the take down Barrel goes in from the right side and you'll notice the barrel has cuts to install in the frame just rotate it and slightly push and then align to the position of to bring the slide back on , any questions please feel free to ask , Guys it really doesnt get any easier then this , you'll see, I Think some of the issues have to do with Not cleaning the Gun in the Sear Block area, Just and educated Guess, and Yes I Have smoothed Mine out some
very simple. to reassemble reverse, and Make sure the chassie is seated On the rear part of the frame , where the Serial #s show thru, Have a Great Week!!! Happy Shooting !!!

Thanks for the posts and next time we go out she'll be pumping another 150 through her baby. I'm so happy with this purchase. Haven't had to do a thing but let her shoot it and reload the mags. My new Glock 30SF didn't shoot very well when I took it out but now with new truglow tritium combo sights I can finally shoot tight groups. But the store owner with 30 yr younger eyes had no problem. But my problem solved, the GX4 TORO tight out of the box just smaller holes.

That damn little spring that pops out , that works with the slide release, I could not figure how it went back, until I saw your first photo ,at the top. Thank god I found this. THEN, I could not get the take down pin back in, the spring was in the way. ONLY way I got it back in , was to reach in the inside of the frame , where the spring pokes through, push it back with a screwdriver, then push it home. Had me worried for a moment. And the slide release lever just falls off when you take the frame out too.

I purchased the TORO slide ,TWICE, first one the coating on it looked like a 3 year old used a spatter spraycan to finish it, bloches and runs and bear metal everywhere.THE replacement one, the firing pin safety was stuck down , in its hole. So the firing pin always worked. and the firing pin was very hard and gritty to remove. After banging the slide on the table, the safety poped out, but was still very gritty when you pushed it , not very good QC on either ,at all . They both got sent bach today, and I ordered one more.

Ya know, I never did a break down on the slide I figured everyone knew how to take one apart, because it really is not much different from the G series only a little smaller, my Bad, I did show the comparison of firing pins and the bushings. I am glad all the views that this has received and hoped it helped everyone, Happy shooting!!!:)

I never took apart the g series before, so that " button" that you have to push , i was unaware of it. I know it had to do something, but I didn,t want to hammer on it because these were new slides that I was sending back.. And I should not have to do surgary on a brand new item.Besides, on the second one with the gritty/stuck safety pin, just removing the firing pin was very tight and gritty too. A real poor showing of weak qality control. And they told me that because of web page issues, they would not honer the 20% off sale price that I tried many times to get it to work. MORE lack of " better service " they claim. CRAP SERVICE.
" I do apologize for any inconvenience but we can no longer process any of the labor day discounts." from her, damn discount NEVER WORKED!

Thank you!

Has anyone fully dismantled the trigger on this? If so, can photos please be shared? I’m concerned with the pin and whether or not it comes back together tight and how the spring goes in there. My plan is to cerakote the trigger safety red. It seems like a lot for something so little but I’m bored and like doing things like this when I can.

UPDATE… I figured it out.

Hello all, I've got a GX4 and I've had it about a year and have about 700 rounds down range. I love this little pistol, by fat a cleaner design and a much better trigger than the G2C. They can keep the double action long trigger pull with double strike capability! Anyway I am a fan of Duracoat and WW2 OD Green lol. I painted my pump shotgun yesterday and qould like to paint my GX4 tonight be can't find out any information about removing the extractor. Does anny have a link to share? I've watched I believe all those videos and as far as I can tell removal of the extractor isn't included. If I'm wrong please point me to the video and I apologize, when I Duracoat I do a total disassembly. I don't want to tape off the extractor but will if I can't find any info, I can take a Glock completely but can't seem to figure out the GX4. I'll post some pics when it's finished, I've painted about 10 guns so far and the GX4 should look cool OD green with a black rubber Talon Grip!
Thanks!

Thanks, pictures when your done would be great

Thanks for this thread. I got a new gx4xl with the riton optic. After around 400 rounds my slide catch was getting..touchy. I also was having some failure to fully return to bat with the next round.
Im not going to send a great gun back for these simple issues that I have also experienced with some of my Glocks and Springfields.
Got the slide catch out, filed it flatter and no more probs. Freed up the extractor and got some good oil in there..no more failure to battery. Got her apart and polished contact points and feed ramp. Made the gun mine..now its perfect past 1000 round mark. Easily my fav carry pistol and it was $200 less than every other pistol i own.
