GC3 9mm Taurus Ammo Recomendations

Had a g3c for a little while that I sold. Would run target ammo no issue. Where I had issues with self defense ammo was when it would go to pick up the first round on a full mag. It would hang up in the barrel and you’d have to finagle with it and it seemed to cycle after the first round.

That said when I sold it, I suspect that if I’d polished the feed ramp or run a few hundred more rounds through it, it likely would have loosened up and acted better. So you might want to polish the feed ramp or take it to a local gunsmith and they might be able to tweak it for you if you’re having issues.

Personally I’ve got hornady critical duty in my gun right now. That’s what the owner of the local range recommended to me and said that’s what he carries. Whatever you pick make sure you try out the defensive ammo you choose to run.

As I recall some of the g3c models had issues with some hollow points. My g3(the full size model) never had that issue, but better to be sure.

Daughter wanted some range time so we just got back (yes, it's 3am, my job has a range in the basement so I have 24/7 access). Anyways, today she wanted to practice drawing from her holster and engaging targets.

We did several boxes today. No issues. Each box was 50 rds
Speer 124gr TMJ
American Eagle 147gr FMJ
Winchester NATO 124gr FMJ
IWI 158gr FMJ (this is what I run in my suppressed guns)
and some crappy dirty Turan 115gr FMJ
just make sure to run a box or so of the hollow points you intend to run through that gun. Some of the g3c pistols will run fine with fmj but hang up on hollow points.
