Picked up my first Taurus pistol this morning. Wanted to try something with an optic and the new sccy isn't available anywhere I have access too, nor is the Max-9, so I decided on the G3C.

For an optic, I went with the holosun hs507k-x2.

Taurus includes 4 adapter plates, and 3 different types of screws(1of each, I guess as an example??)

The optic came with two pair of screws, neither fit the G3C. I took the one example included with the G3C to the hardware store and bought a pair of stainless screws.

The G3C manual says plate #2 fits the hs507k. I've got to assume they are referring to the original, and not the x2 model, because of the x2 wasn't close to their plate. I went with plate 4, removed rear lug on plate and made the one front lug shorter since the holosun has a shallow hole.

Fit and finish ony G3C is excellent IMHO. If it's not too windy this evening, I'll see about sighting it in and testing it out.

The screw threads are 6*32, I believe a half inch long, but I didn't pay attention to length other than to match it up with the length of the screw on the left in the manual. I held my soldering iron to the head of the original screws for minute and they came right out.

Sure. The G2C is the current version of what used to be the Mellinum pistol, with improvements. The G3C is the latest upgrade. The "c" stands for compact, as there are full sized versions of this gun as well. (Forum members, feel free to correct me if I am wrong.) The c version is about the size of a Glock 19, and the full size is comparable to a Glock 17. Fun fact-the guns will accept and function with Sig P229 magazines, but they stick out below the grip.

Pretty windy out this evening, glad I shot a box of ammo through it at lunch.

Really impressed with the trigger. I don't do any aftermarket triggers on my pistols and have Ruger, Smith and Wesson, Glock, Sig, so that's what I've got to compare it too.

Functioned 100%, appreciated the fact that it grouped my brass nicely. I didn't clean or lube the pistol. Just shot as is out of the box with exception of adding the optic.

It disassembles and reassembles easy, mags drop freely, empty or full. Hopefully the wind dies down for the weekend, I want to get some rounds through it.

I think plate 2 would fit the Holosun 507C, not the 507K. The 507C uses the RMR pattern, which plate 2 is made too. The 507K uses the Shield RMSC footprint. I think that is why you had to modify a plate to get it to fit. Looks good. Have fun shooting it!
Attached is a drawing of the footprint of the holosun K optics. This should allow you to modify the plate 4 front. I did the modifications for mounting my 507K, but found the taurus plate with only one fwd lug and two 8-32 screws did not hold my optic even at 20 in/lbs torque.

Put a hundred rounds through it this evening shooting steel, getting used to the optic. I feel I've got it sighted in to my liking.

Pistol operated flawlessly, prior to shooting this evening I'd cleaned and lubed it for the first time.

I'm not sure, it wasn't bought to be my EDC. I'll probably just get a shell from alien gear to use, I have several pieces from them.

CRracer712, I have the same plate issue with my new Holosun HE507K-GR on my G3c. I love this pistol and know I am going to love it even more with the holosun on it. How exactly did you remove the Rear Lug and shorten the Front Lug? Also, what have you found for a Carry Holster if any that works well with the sight?

You have to use a modified plate 4. Front lug is shortened, rear lug needs to be removed. Only the 1 lug and the screws hold it on. Check to make sure the plate snaps into place otherwise the plate moves on the slide. Mine would not hold aim, so I pulled it off and put in on my CZ P10c OR.

I contacted Taurus regarding support for the G3/G3c TORO plates to mount RMSc and RMRcc smaller footprint optics. Their response was no plates planned at this time, now only the GX4. Have fun!
