I've used it in both the 9mm and .45 ACP. My best load with it in the .45 ACP used a Lyman #452460 200 grn LSWC. It was Okay for the most part but a bit finicky. I switched over to Alliant (then Hercules) Red Dot, which I prefer.

The main attraction 700x had was that I could use it in both my 12 guage Trap loads and my Pistol Loads. These days I use Red Dot, Green Dot, and WST, for 12 guage, 9mm, .38 Special, and .45 ACP.

The Lee Factory Crimp Die sizes the case and ensures that the proper amount of taper crimp is applied. It is one extra step, but worth it.

With a Standard case mouth expander, a mild taper crimp is best. As I use a Lyman M-Die that has a precision stepped case mouth expander, no crimping is necessary.
