Just bought some ammunition on credit...at the Warrior Way Specialty Store on Fort Hood, TX. I used my Military Star Card, it has very low interest rates. I usually make big purchases on credit so that it improves my FICO score as I pay them off. They do not advertise the ammo prices and you have to have a military ID to purchase anything from the stores. Here is what I bought and the prices:

1. S&B 357MAG 158GR FMJ 50: $25.29
2. PMC 38 G SPL TGT 132 FMJ 50: $18.15
3. Remington UMC 40 S&W 180 GR 250: $84.15
4. Winchester 9mm Luger 115 GR FMJ Value Pack 100: $24.25
5. S&B 7.62X54R 180 GR 20: $20.55
6. Magazine Taurus 9mm PT-92 New: $34.98
7. Chinese bait knife: $2.50

Grand Total for 470 rounds of ammunition, new magazine, and knife: $209.87

Your post is depressing me! I used to shoot a ton of that S&B .357 and PMC .38. I paid $10.50/50 for the S&B and $9.00/50 for the PMC, that wasn't THAT long ago (5-6 years ago). It's all quality ammo though and I hope you enjoy shooting it.

ETA: Oh, and I remember buying that loose pack winchester for my old PT-92 at $9.88/100. I'm starting to sound like my Grandpa! LoL

Yea, funny how ammunition prices fluctuate just like gasoline prices. Those days of $9.88/100 WWB are long over I am afraid. When your making payments on your ammo its not as painful.

I fear the days when I'm stopping by my local credit union to pay on my truck loan as well as my ammunition and firearms loan! LoL

Was in the Exchange on Malmstrom AFB friday, they have a decent selection of ammunition on the shelf. The gun shop in that exchange has only been open a few months, but I'm told by management that they are doing a good business. I always check for AE 327 Fed Mag ammo, need to build up my brass supply another couple hundred but they only had the PD ammo in 327 and I won't pay that price.

Yes they do, id like to be taking a new Taurus Carbine to the range today....but I guess in the mean time my Hi Point 4095TS carbine will have to do. Taking the Stoeger Cougar 8040 also so its going to be a .40 S&W range trip.
