WTK: range results of a Gaucho 45LC, w/5-1/2" bbl

I have an opportunity to purchase, at a very reasonable price, a case hardened Gaucho in 45LC with a 5-1/2" bbl...Just curious to know how they shoot (i.e. recoil, accuracy, point of aim) right out of the box, before I decide to buy...only other single action I have to compare it with is an original Ruger Vaquero, 45LC with a 4-5/8" bbl..The Ruger is larger and I believe a little heavier...Any and all info regarding any sized Taurus Gaucho would be appreciated....trying to decide whether or not to jump on it or let it pass and save my money for another Taurus...still would like to try and buy the new PT58...however, I can't afford both...many thanks from the bluegrassstate..

I have the exact same model and am very happy with it. It's accurate and shoots close to POA, a little bit left of center (3-4 inches at 50ft) and just right elevation (using a 6 o'clock hold) with standard velocity 250g fodder. I load my own, in fact have never shot a factory round through it. 7.5-8gr of Unique is what I shoot the most. Recoil is very manageable with such a load, in fact it's very fun to shoot. It is slimmer and lighter than the Old Model Vaquero, and I find the Gaucho more comfortable in my hand than the OM Vaquero.

It's a beautiful revolver, some of the best case hardening I've seen on a modern gun. I don't think you'll be sorry unless you don't reload - the cost of factory .45LC is just plain ridiculous. That's one caliber that will pay itself real quickly if you want to get set up for reloading.
Any and all info regarding any sized Taurus Gaucho would be appreciated
Sssshhhhh!!!!...Be careful what you ask for....lol

Qwiks is lurking around here somewhere...

do you already have a .45 LC...?
Might be cool to get a caliber you dont have...Dunno :D
I don't know much about .45 LC but it does sound pricy to shoot from what i have read on here.. :)

Good Luck and watch out for Qwiks ;)

Do not have the SA gun, but the 45 colt is fun to shoot. The Judge handles beautifully, with anything I stick in it. I have not gone over the 250 gr JHP's but It is just plain fun to see that Big HOLE, in a target that I have shot with a 22, 9mm, or 38 just open up.
