I can feel no movement at all when trying to move my cylinder front to back. (Surely there is a little bit of clearance, but it is minute.) However, when rolling the cylinder back and forth, I can feel some play in it. I have no idea how much is good or bad, but I notice that my little SP-101 has a lot less cylinder play in it. Would you think this is related to the cylinder in the 608 being so much larger? Thanks!

A bit of play side to side is normal. Make sure the gun is unloaded and then pull the trigger all the way back. Does the cylinder wobble lessen? I bet it does. Tight front to back is fine as long as it works okay.

Many thanks for the replies, gents. With the hammer cocked, there is very little movement... ;D
