THis headline could have read a whole lot different if not for the right to protect life, home and family... I question the statement the police are trying to determine if she was justified. How many times do we read about women killed by people who have restraining orders against them. Thats kinda like take way the legal guns to reduce crime???
I say good for her, his intentions were prob not the most honorable!
Bedford) -- A shooting early Wednesday in Bedford could end up being a test of Ohio's Castle Doctrine law, the one that allows a homeowner to defend themselves against threats by an intruder.
Bedford Police were called early Wednesday morning to a home on Grand Blvd. owned by Audrey Calhoon, who told police that her ex-boyfriend had broken into the home through the backdoor. Calhoon confronted the man and shot him in the face. He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment.
No charges have been filed in the case, as Bedford Police are trying to determine, in part, if Calhoon was justified in shooting the ex-boyfriend. Police and prosecutors will determine if was self-defense or excessive force.
Bedford Police say the ex-boyfriend had made numerous threats against Calhoon and her family, and once had threatened to kill her.
