SHe hit one in the chest!!! Nice shooting-----
QUOTE from story

The woman's husband said he had just left the home in the 10600 block of Greenwood Road to get an oil change when she heard someone jiggle the knob of the front door. The woman said she saw two other men heading to the back door.

The woman said she peered through the blinds and saw the men putting on gloves and raising their feet to try to kick their way through the sliding glass doors. She said she pulled the trigger and fired straight ahead.

The woman said the men ran off, firing shots toward the house.

Lessons to learn from this story.

Do not assume that criminals are stupid. The bad guys did enough homework and surveillance to strike right after the husband left home.Incident to this point,it is non negotiable for the woman of the house to be skilled with firearms.A thinking scumbag won't attack a house at 2am with the big bad gunslinger husband at home. They'll do it at 9:30 am when the man of the house-and his pistol-have left the building.

Lesson number three:carry your weapon at home at all times. As I type this now my 10mm sits next to me on the bathroom sink.Perhaps criminals in other locales are principled enough to permit the homeowner time to unlock a gun safe, but the ones around here definitely aren't!

This is the biggest thing to jump out at me in the story
"The woman said the men ran off, firing shots toward the house."
these weren't your average home breaking thieves. These were armed thugs that knew someone would be home and would have used the firearms they had without a second thought. The story also claims 3 men were arrested. Tell me how a 7 round mag would have been sufficient to defend against 3 criminals attepting to deprive you of your property or... your life.

Didn't you know? You're supposed to abandon your property to the invaders.

That is not going to happen. We have worked hard all of our life to be able to enjoy life and some thug is not going to take it without a fight. Stand your ground.
