my neighbor has a winchester 68 single shot bolt action, he would like to find out what year it was built, but they didnt serial number the gun back in the 1930's so i was wondering if anyone knew about the .22 rifle? i read wikipedia on it but was wondering if anyone knew something more? its a firearm passed down to him from family hes not looking to sell it but we would like to find out more on the history of it...

IAW the Madis book. The model was produced from 1934 t0 1946. Total production was 100,015 guns. That's about all the info there is unless family history comes into play.
