Gave my wife a new 4" model 66 as a wedding present so I could get my 3" model 65 back. She didn't like the big black rubber grips on the 66 so now has my 65's wood grips.

I've looked at, and purchased, a set of wood grips but none seem to match. The size is right but the inner medallion holder on the ones I bought and am seeing for sale are not in the correct place for proper fit. Also there is no hole for the post at the bottom of the grip.

Where would one find the Taurus grips like those in the picture? Any idea when they were made?

Ebay is the only place I can find original Taurus wood. There are aftermarket options such as Hogue and Grips4Guns.com sells Excaliber grips.

I'll keep watching the auction sites.

Here is a pic of the grips I purchased that do not work on the left and those that work on the right. I'm seeing a whole lot more like those on the left for sale.
