Every time I happen to go to my LGS or Cabelas I will look over the used gun selection-- you never know what you may find. Now I cant get the Taurus m85 for $245 or the bersa thunder 380 for $$199 out of my mind. May have to go back tomorrow and see if they are still there. Both were in good-very good shape.

Too many guns is like too much money. Neither concept exists in reality. :D

Surprising prices for Cabela's: the one near me frequently prices used guns at prices higher than NIB items only a few steps away.

Why?
It's just as George Mallory said, "Because it's there."

I have seen some used guns there higher than new ones also. I try to always keep my eye out, you just never know what you will find a couple of years ago I picked up my 1991 pt-99 for $295 with 4 mags. The only wear was on the wooden grips.

Those prices are hard to beat. Both guns get rave reviews, to boot.

What the?

I must shake my noggin at intelligent people making the moral and financially devastating decision to visit the used gun counter! Why, when one is not Willian Gates should a gun loving citizen visit a used gun case knowing only heartbreak and emotional turmoil await!

Used firearms need to be placed behind an iron gate guarded by a man with extensive Kung Fu training and philosophical experience. When an applicant approaches the used gun case, he is asked a question by the old master. Failure to answer properly results in escort off the premesis. If the proper answer is given to the master's quiry, the applicant demonstrated the philosophical discipline to make the painful choices to follow.

$500 Springfield 1911 with 3 mags and the purrfect grip ......or pay to fix the busted transmission in your Camaro? Sometimes all a man needs is 3 gears out of six and a sweet .45 pistol.A fast car is no good if the owner is shot dead....but money requires work, which requires a functional car. In this way the cycle of Yin and Yang always fight for control at the dangerous metaphysical crossroads of the "Pre Owned Firearms " section. Proceed carefully in the future, young grasshopper. :D

"Larrys" in Huntsville, AL was selling NIB M85 in blue for $200 delivered to your FFL. You may try giving them a call on their internet and auction number and see if they still have any at that price. That is how I picked up my .327 Mag for $250 delivered. I picked up the M85 awhile back at that $200 number.

Show me a bersa thunder 380 for $199 and it will be in my pocket by night fall. Trouble is if it's in CT the shipping and transfer charges would make it same as buying here. Why are these deals never at my LGS?

Larry's is a bad dangerous place. Between the aggressive prices, excellent customer service, inventory and Tim Lyon's knowledge it just makes buying a new gun too inticing.
Kind of like that S&W Signa .40 semi auto with the Stainless side, 2 magazines, NIB for $259.99 I have been watching. I don't need it, it is based on the Glock design, inexpensive, underappreciated...but did I mention the $259.99 price? I have been so tempted on this gun, that I came across a deal on 5 magazines for $45 that fit this gun.....and I bought them.
So it only seems right that I buy a pistol to mate the mags with....Right?
Bad Larry, Bad.....LOL!!!

with shipping real good. Most FFl's I have looked at around hear want 40-50 for a ffl transfer. Thats why most of the time I have looked to buy over the internet its always been around the same price, but not always.

WOW!!! My FFL charges $20. If if purchase three guns at the same time from the same person, he still charges only $20.

Either of the OP's choices would make a fine purchase. I own a Thunder .380 and I have a M605 which is just a .357 version of the M85. I love them both and neither has given me the first problem.
