I am looking for a place to shoot that is not a gun range.

Something like a rock quarry, or a place with a nice safe natural berm..you get the idea.

I actually in Georgetown, but I can't find anywhere to just go out and plink or do some free shooting.

Anyone know of a place like this?

No, I am not aware of any place like that. Safety issues would likely keep any corporation (such as might own a quarry) from allowing shooting on their property. Your best bet is to find a local landowner with lots of property and ask for rights to set up a personal range.

Yes, that's about the conclusion I have come to.

It's just not like it used to be I guess where there seemed to be plenty of places to just go out & plink casually.

Maybe the outdoor range I go to has some kind of membership option or something.
