Where the heck are all the PT145 Mill. Pros?

I have wanted one of these for months. Always hoping I would run into one at a local store, I had to by the 9MM version just to slow down my drooling for the .45.
All the stores say they have been out for months. What gives?
By the way I really like the 9MM. It's smooth like a cadillac. Only took me a dozen rounds to figure out the sights. I like'm ;D Shot 100 Ball and 50 Gold dots. No problems at all.
I was suprised that this wouldn't fit my Glock 27 holster.

Glad you like the PT145. A lot of store owners in our area cut back drastically on new guns in the showcase. Used guns usually are the money makers. To get one just trip a PT145 owner, grab and run. ;D :D Kidding folks. It's almost that bad and hard to get one in some places. :) The regular place I shop is known for being Taurus Town, yet few are on hand nowdays.Have a PT111 Mil/pro myself and won't hold it against you .45ACP lovers. You'd shoot first. ;D 24/7s are neat guns too, regardless of caliber. Come to think of it, so are the others. :)
I bought a $6.00 knj inside the pants holster made for the 26/27 for my pt-111 and it fit great.
My local stores rarely have much like this in, and I broke down and asked them to order one for me. A couple of their suppliers were out, but one (still not sure which) still had some. I think people are learning what a deal these are...look at any forum discussing them and the responses are VERY largely in favor of them, although there are usually a few dissenters who typically fall into a few categories: 1) I hate all Taurus semi automatics, 2) I had a PT145 1st generation and the frame cracked so they're all worthless, and 3) I had a PT145 recent model that didn't work well so I sold it.
Continue to look. When I bought mine, the guy had several in stock both in stainless and blue. It seems the typical "street price" of most Taurus is about $100 less than the Suggested Retail.
When I got mine, the distributor only had 1 in stock, and no word on when he'd have more. Really wanted the stainless, but all he had was blue. I jumped on it, or I might of had to wait a lot longer.
These guys are right. MSRPs are just guideline or are not even close to the real world price. Most real prices are much lower than the suggested retail price. Nothing wrong with ordering a pistol. If you do regular business with a certain gun shop it is in the store's best interests to offer as low a price as feasibly possible.

Oscar,

If you want to make the drive to St. Cloud, there is a store that had at least two NIB Gen 3 PT145 SS on Saturday. It wasn't Scheels, and it wasn't Gander. It was the other one south of the mall...

I didn't buy one cause I'm still leaning towards the 745, plus I will be dealing with my local guy
Tman,
Did you notice the price on the PT145SS?
I do get up that way once in a while.
The mother in-law lives there.
I have never went to the gun stores though.
I'll look them up.
Thanks,
Oscar
The store that Tman mentioned is Sportsman's Whse......south of the Crossroads Mall. About 2 months ago I purchased a new 3rd Gen PT140 (Blue) from them for $300 + Tx = $321. I didn't check the price of the SS version. I was told that they get Taurus shipments every Thursday late afternoon. IF you want to check, the tel #: 320 656-0500. Their prices beat any other place around here and they have a whole wall (hanging on pegs) of every type of handgun anyone would want. Their ammo prices are high. Also here in St Cloud, Walmart just discontinued their gun sales as of Feb 7th. They still will be selling ammo though....the cheapest prices around here.
$320 for the SS, if I remember correctly. Gander quoted me that price about 6 weeks ago, if I wanted to order one from them.

if you still loking for the PT-145, go here www.holeinthewallfirearms.com
10 min ago they had 8 blue and 3 stainless ones. FWIW
i got mine for 320.00 with two 10 round mags carrying case cleaning brush thumbsaver and owners manual, it was a used generation 3. The place were i purchased it had had on about a month prior that was the stainless which is what i wanted when i went back it was gone. they finally got the blued version so i jumped on it. Its now been about 3 months and they have a stainless 45 and the blued 40. Moral of the story if you see one you want jump on it cause they dont last long
DinKS, although I have (2) PT140s, I looked at the site you showed. I checked the PT145 on that site and the picture of that PT145 sure looks like an older generation 2 pistol. Also, the sites discription mentioned that it is a 3rd generation pistol, yet the regular lineup discription showed the gun to be DAO. Hmmm.
That is because people use what they have available. The Taurus wite was running the wrong pictures till about 2 months ago. The people out there are using the old pics, either because they don't know better, or they are too stupid or lazy to find the correct picture. The ones they are selling are the 3rd gen guns.
I just looked at the Taurus USA site
and it does not look up todate to me!

From what I see, there are still Gen 2s
and not the Gen 3.

I picked up a PT145 SS from SW in the Dallas area for get this the old price of $309.99. Went straight to the range and ran 100 CCI Blazer thru it to see how it ran cheap ammo, didn't have a failure of any kind. Re-newing my CHL this weekend and I'm going to use the PT145 to qual. The gun was sold to me for $329.99 but when I got it home the old price tag was still in the box so I made them credit my Credit Card for the old price. Great gun no matter what you pay for it.
Yeehaa,
I finally found one. I'll take it out tonight and shoot the Carp out of it.
UMC, CCI, MSF, and whatever else I can find in the ammo box.
My P-111 eats everything I hope this one does too.
Is it OK to shoot +P rounds ???

How did it shoot?

There's info right here on +P "Taurus Updates .45 ACP Load Recommendations" Taurus warns that +P CAN be dangerous. That being said, I bot a box of CorBon this time around for my carry ammo. I'll look for a lower pressure load when I cycle through this box.
