I agree 100%! It seems there is no place left in this country for folks who uphold and cherish the ideals of our founding fathers....

"What happened to the land of the free and the home of the brave?"

We have been allowing a little bit more American Socialism every few years for at least the last hundred years if not longer. Now we are seeing the end results.

It's becoming the land of the sheeple and the home of the fearfull. The small pockets of resistance will continue to fight for the land of the free and the home of the brave, we will be called the resistance or dissidents. I kinda resemble that remark, thank you very much!

Sounds almost right.
I did see one big problem with the piece- and may not be intentional, the guy may just be ranting- but saying Bush did not help after Katrina is dead wrong. These types of errors need to be pointed out. Else, someone may read this and believe it.
The gov of LA and the mayor of NOLA are 100% responsible for that fiasco. Louisiana had a workable evacuation plan in place, they just ignored it. By the time FEMA realized that LA was not implementing their plan, it was too late.
I live on the Gulf Coast- I know what "evacuation plan" means. If you live in "the zone" and the hurricane center says you should be leaving if you are in Zone X- then you need to be moving. I have probably "bugged out" at least 10 times since I have lived on the coast. 2 times I may have died had I chose to stay. And probably 8 times I wondered why I left.
With hurricane Katrina it was Mayor Ray Nagan who decided not to implement the evacuation plan- not George Bush. It was Ray Nagan that directly caused the death and gross suffering of many people.

I had the same issue with the article, and I appreciate your taking the time to set this point straight.

It really upsets me that so much of this is true. I just don't know how we will get back on track or if we even can.

I believe that it was John Wesley who said, "What one generation tolerates, the next embraces." May not be verbatim, but close.
