I would put a few more rounds (200-300) to see if it works itself out, however if the safety doesn't work, then it needs to go back to Taurus. It is not normal and needs attention. I've not sent anything back, so others will have to speak to that.

We do know there is an anomoly in the MilPro with the safety... if the trigger is partially pressed when the safety is engaged, the gun will fire, but not recycle the trigger for the next shot until the safety was disengaged. I am presuming that you are keeping your finger out of the trigger guard when you engage the safety?

beagler, I'm curious. This surely can't be the same gun you mentioned...

Re: Poll: Have You Had Problems

I had numerous with my PT 145. I ened up taking it back to my dealer and trading it in for a smith/wesson M&P 40. My dealer gave me my money back since it was only a month old, and I have washed my hands of Taurus.

I'd kind of like to figure out which story is straight?

Yep, same gun.
Interesting that the gun was returned to dealer within a month for a refund, and you are now trying to decide about sending it back to the factory for a borken safety? Whew... now you've got ME scratching my head with a puzzled look on my face?
