What to do, and where to do it?

So, let's say someone came across a couple of shotguns. Say maybe single shot 12 gauge that have been cut back to a dimple over legal barrel length.

And maybe this individual wasn't really interested in said shotguns. Keeping in mind that they are not anything special or pretty. And have some patina/wear/lack of maintenance showing. Where would he list or offer these here on the forum, the classified or the pay it forward section. Keeping in mind that the individual would rather not ship, but not of question if the receiving party was willing to pay the shipping cost.

I'm gonna say classifieds is best, with "FREE" in title. Not that Pay It Forward would be a violation or anything. This assumes these are legal firearms.

Per my measurements, these are LEGAL. I obtained these through my brother years ago as security of a personal loan. I had forgotten about these until recently. Not my cup of tea so to speak and little brother passed away a few months ago. So rather than place them on the open market, I figured if offered here on T/A it would be like keeping them in the family.

You mentioned PIF. Does that mean these would be free? Also you say couple but I only see one, I think. Do my eyes deceive me?

I have a shotgun that is similar but without the recoil pad and in 20 gauge. I put an elastic shell holder on it and use it for a snake gun when fishing. If I was in Texas I would take it off of your hands but you said that you did not want to ship. Mine is a H&R has been a reliable gun.

You could clean them up, add front and rear sights and buy and permanently install a barrel insert.

Yes, these would be offered at no charge. I need to run a brush and rag down the barrels to get a good look as to barrel condition before I do anything. There are two of them, one had a recoil pad the other does not.

As for your eyes deceiving you, well not in this case. I was rushed when I started this post this morning and only grabbed photos of the one shown.

I've got no real use for it, but it would make someone a good walk about snake gun with the capability of firing slugs for big stuff, maybe. H&Rs are pretty fast to reload if you have the next round in your hand. I've doubled on geese with my 10 gauge H&R before. It's a pretty good feat, though.

Wasn't looking to generate interest, and not ready to proceed as of today. I want to inspect these well before doing that.

So if anything, let's simply shut this thread down. When I'm ready, I'll post this in the classified section.
