At 45 feet from I assume a bench rest that's damn good shooting. I own two M&P 45's with the mid length 4 inch barrels. They are good guns. The issue comes from people not used to the M&P stock trigger. The pistols are more accurate than 90÷% of shooters I know. If the trigger bugs folks that much apex makes a upgrade kit that can be had for roughly $40.
In short- if you shoot glocks you won't like the stock triggers of the M&Ps most likely. However I believe and train to shoot various stock pistols and learn their triggers. Why? In a fight for your life you may not always get to pick and choose which gun will save your bacon. You use whatever you must: Glock, M&P, Hi-Point, knife, broken bottle, brick... etc..etc..
