Howdy! After some polishing I went to test revolver functions and I noticed that one
Particular dry fire (on a snap cap) was able to fire without the cylinder latch locked in.

I know that normally means a timing issue but I slowly cocked the revolver on DA and SA and each time the cylinder lock activated before the hammer was fully back.

Was this a freak accident occurrence or is my raging bull telling me it needs to go to Miami soon?

Dry fired several more times and had issue occur again 1/100. Could the new polish on cylinder be interfering with lock?
I did not polish the hand or the ejector star.

Are you firing it double action or single action when the lock up fails?

This looks like a very old thread.
