Any lawyers here? Does the elimination of the ORM-d classification and shipping paper requirements mean I no longer need to consider ammo as hazmat?

I'm lost as well. Do you write something in the center of those new labels. So much for being "international" Does the rest of the world ship ammo like we do here, in the good old U.S.of A?

I think its a good thing. My last online ammo shipment had a giant "ORM-D" label , with a "cartridges-small arms" sticker next to it. May as well put a sign saying "please steal this package, contains ammunition".

FedEx dropped the designation last January, they now use the Label "DG"; Dangerous Goods, and the shipping regs have changed as to who and how ammunition can be shipped. An ammo shipper must now be certified as "educated" to their system. It is an online course and looked like a pain in the XXX, I decided it wasn't worth the effort. Check with your local FEDEX office, they will give you a phone# and a site address. Rotsa Ruck!!!!!!!

ORM-D can still be used until the end of this year.
The new symbol is really very uninformative.
The old one identified what was in the package.
