Been thinking of taking the black finish on my secondary mag for my 24/7. Has anyone done this before, if so how does it look and is it easy to do.

that would depend, is it a really blued? like in the title, or is it a black finish like in your post?

bluing is actually pretty delicate stuff, they have blue stripper out there but hoppes can take it off as well.

btw why do you wanna strip it?

Yea sorry its black finish. really no reason just to see if it looks good, I cant see any harm in doing it. As stated before its not my primary mag.

well not sure, i know sanding would do the job, maybe some 1000+ grit sand paper.

or you might try using some metal polish, especially if you have a rotary tool can probably just polish the finish off.

i heard for powder coatings gasket remover like you would use on a car works.

the only problem with stripping the finish is you expose the metal to the elements and could get some rust on them.
