Is it a good idea to just remove the trigger screw on our PT1911? Heard that its not a good idea to have a trigger screw , especially if you have a series 80 1911 to make it more reliable.

I'm asking because I had my small parts chromed and polished and they had to take out the trigger screw so I'm kinda unsure on how to put the screw back so I'm inclined to just not put it back in to lessen my lists of things to worry about the gun. What do you think guys is it safe to do so?

That screw is for adjusting the trigger over-travel. Why would you not want to put it back in? There is no reason for you not to. It will not make it more reliable without; that is a lie.

Put the screw back in and adjust it to stop the rearward movement of the trigger right after the sear releases. Make sure to put some locktite on it.

Or not if you like a crappy, loose trigger. Your decision. Personally, I prefer a crisp, precision trigger that 1911's are known for.
