Was able to finally get out to the indoor range today with my 809, 111 G2 and 709. Ran 200 +/- rounds through each of them with various weights and brands. The only issues that I had were with one of 709 factory mags (only have 2 mags, both factory) didn't like Blazer Brass 115gr. Lots of failure to feed issues. Oddly no issues with the same ammo in the other mag, and no issues with any other brand of ammo in this particular mag. I am thinking of chalking it up to the ammo. Has anyone else had similar issues? Thanks!
I have only used Blazer Brass a couple times, but not in my 709, but never had any issues with it. All things considered it sounds like you had a good range day!
Haven't had any 709 mag issues but I'd take the mag apart and check for proper spring orientation (wrong way install). Also compare the lips to the good mag.
