TISAS BR9 Hi Power Clone/Knock Off

1965 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  jimb1972
I have a couple of Hi Powers and an old FEG, which I like better than the Hi Powers. The trigger is much better. Since Hi Power is no more, I'm looking hard at the Tisas.
Anywhoo, I see Tisas has a BR9 imported by LKCI LLC If anyone sees one listed somewhere, let me know. G.B. has three listed. I'm looking for one in S.S.

I saw two listed the other day on gun deals. Com. A blued and a Stainless. 500 and 550.
They look like nice guns, but I've never seen one in person.

I emailed LKCI LLC to see who their distributor is in the southeast. I'll be the beta tester. What's another gun in the safes?

I have a Tisas 1911, it's a great shooter, very well made. The finish is a little rough in a couple of spots, but I really like it.

Here's a link to the site, I've never dealt with them. https://gunprime.com/product/tisas-regent-br9-9mm-ss-hi-power-clone/

I spoke with LKCI today. They don't have a distributor for the southeast, but they will sell me one and ship it to my FFL. No deal on the price, it's the same as they're going for on the interwebz.
If they started undercutting the dealers, they wouldn't be selling many firearms.

The only negative I have of Tisas is, they seem to make a run of guns, then stop.
If this is a true clone, parts should be easy to find. $500ish for any all metal gun is a great deal, for a HP clone, its a steal. Congratulations, I hope you'll share a review with us soon.
I have one Tisas, its a 380 that the wife liked and was imported by ATI.
its a decent little browning/ beretta clone, multi stack mag.
so far its been flawless and pretty accurate, got two dot sights (or Hienie type) I imagine IF I practiced with it I could get better accuracy.
it handled a multitude of different projectiles and ran like a champ.

Two Brownings or knock offs? $500s Range is a very nice price for a well preserved Hi Power and even better for a NIB.

They used to sit around on display with $900+ price tags. Until it was announced they were being discontinued . . . . then they were priced in the mid $500 range to move the last of the inventory. Could kick myself for not grabbing up one as they WILL have value in the future but I have never been bowled over by them.

Anyone got a clear line on why they’re being d/c’d?

I bought the Cylinder and Slide hammer and sear kit for my surplus high power to replace the 15# trigger (I am only guessing because my gauge didn't go high enough) works great and dropped it down to 4 1/2#. Not as good as it was supposed to be, but a hell of a lot better.
