I think I struggled over this latest gun acquisition more than any other gun that I've bought. And once I settled on the 608, I then pondered a good bit with whether to get a 4" or 6 1/2" barrel. I was very fortunate to find a helpful friend who has one with the longer barrel, and he graciously let me shoot it.

After seeing how his performed, I went with the 6 1/2" barrel and finally got to take it to the range for its maiden voyage. This thing is absolutely wonderful! I shot 100 rounds of .38 Special that I loaded up the other day, along with 75 rounds of .357 Magnum that I loaded. No problems of any kind. Seeing how this bad boy performed at 10, 15 and 20 yards convinced me that I made a great choice. This thing rocks! ;D

I had it narrowed down to three possibilities between the Tauri 608 and 627, and the Ruger GP-100. If I ever buy another .357 wheel gun, it will almost surely be the GP-100. But I don't see me getting such an item any time soon... Too happy with the 608 at this point. And I have an SP-101, "little brother" to the larger Ruger mentioned above. :D

Having now had the opportunity to shoot several hundred rounds through this 608, words cannot describe my glee and satisfaction with it. Well, that's not quite true. There are three words that will do so -- sweet, sweet, and SWEET! :D
