I found a new blued 970 for $280.00. I'm wondering if this is a good deal since this would be my first taurus. I have been shooting only for 1 year and have been shooting a ruger mark 3, and aruger single six 22lr. This will be my first DA revolver.

$280 seems like a fair price for the 970.

Welcome from kentucy!
Nice price on the 970.
I have a 970 6" blue and love it.
Just be advised that the DA trigger pull will be a bit heavy ( as the case with most 22lr's ) but will lighten up after a while.
Also, you might get some cylinder binding after the gun gets dirty. I'm told that this is normal for 22's as they are not very clean burning.
Have fun with your 970!

Thanks for the welcomes. I felt alittle intimadated to post something with not having much experience with handguns. I appreciate the comments on the 970 also, my decision is much easier.

Feel right at home. You are family at this place. Good family. :)

We all had to start somewhere where shooting is concerned (we're all still learning.... or should be :) ) and we all had to start at the beginning here.

Just remember to use the virtual coasters for your virtual drink so that rings do not get left of the virtual furniture.:)

Come on in, pull up a chair, kick the feet up, and stay awhile. :)
