well I have MOST CZ models that i want already, the say Model 97 in 10 MM would be one that i would purchase but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.
Honestly call me a CZ man because brand against brand that i own I would not trade my Cz for anything else, and i own quite a few different brands.
well made, great customer service, reliability!
Will you change your screen name to ‘seezolfarhors’?

I almost bought a Colt/CZ 40 back around 2005-2010. If I remember correctly it was kind of like a SA/DA1911/CZ75 hybrid
It was, a cooperative effort between the two companies. The DAO trigger was incredible, but the AWB 10 round mag limit doomed it. Colt backed out after only 1,800 Z-40s were made, and CZ slightly re-engineered the parts into the CZ-40B until the leftover parts ran out. That gun ended up being shrunk down to become the CZ 2075 RAMI, a popular little carry pistol, also now discontinued some time ago.
Ex-wifes' RAMI, now belongs to my son.

Excuse me you hit my COLT SUCKS NERVE

Rant on!

As has been said, CZ owns COLT, WHY would you possibly believe that CZ would allow a gun manufacturer that had everything going for it and FAILED multiple times and did everything they possibly could to go out of business. Why would you allow them to take over a well-run growing prosperous gun company that actually has a well-deserved reputation for quality and listening to their customers?

If it wasn’t for the govt contracts I think colt would have gone tits up 40 years ago. I listen to all the Springfield attackers "OMG I’ll never buy a Springfield again etc. etc. etc.! " I believe COLT was one of the first to capitulate to the GOVT antigun trash. If you get deep in Colt ARs you’ll find they brought out different pin sizes in addition to other things and there are some seriously goofy ARs Colt built to make the "CIVILIAN" version of the AR because "civilians" didn’t "need" ARs that are clones of M16s without the Full Auto capability.

The 1911 - don’t even get me started - too late.
Colt was BEGGED by the competition/self-defense guys to come out with an updated 1911 with all the bells and whistles that you see as normal now since at least the 70s, they declined. "it’s too small of a market" remember in the 70s the 1911 was still the military sidearm, they didn’t NEED the civilian market. In addition to that despite what the fan boys will tell you, the "COLT" 1911 has come a LONG way. Colt should have, could have and would have had the 1911 market tied up to this day, if they hadn’t been too stubborn for 50+ years to give the public what we asked them for, a modernized competition/carry ready 1911 that worked. Yea Wilson, Brown, Nowlin etc. should have never grown the way they did, but they could because COLT ignored us "civilians” , which also gave rise to Kimber and Springfield armory. BTW the same thing happened with AR15s colt ignored the civilian market which ended up giving birth to all the boutiques when the patent ran out.

They rode the Govt Teat since the M16 and blew off the "civilians". They made ignorant business decision after ignorant business decision and ALMOST went out of business.

They got rid of all their revolvers, say what you want about the Python but the Detective Special would be a hot item. They made a lackluster attempt at a redesign of the 1911 .... the 2000 something that FAILED, and they did that why? Well because the military wanted a new gun. Can you even imagine the sales of a moderately priced COLT SAA right now with an actual prancing pony on the side.

I could go on, but you get the idea. WHY IN THE XXXX would ANYONE in their right mind turn over the keys of ANYTHING to the complete imbeciles running Colt.
I’m ecstatic that CZ took over Colt, Ill quit completely ignoring anything with a prancing pony now that a decent company is at the helm of an American ICON with the assumed intent of turning them around and making them a viable name again in the firearms industry. I will buy one now if it catches my eye.

As far as CZ selling off etc., I think, (pure speculation), but if you haven’t noticed the red dot craze has arrived.... They are trying to get rid of anything that is not compatible. If you notice the CZ P10s that are cut for an optic seem to be normal priced. Smith is doing the same thing with the M&P line.

Colt is an example of a company that had it all going for it, relaxed and thought they were bullet proof and found out differently.

Kind of like Sears, Sears went out of business because an online mail order company put them out of business. You can almost see Mr Sears and Mr Roebuck SPINNING in their graves. Glock is heading down that road too.

If it's true that Colt is taking over CZ's operations, I think that would be the worst possible news for CZ fans. Colt themselves are pretty scitzoid about what they want to do, sell guns commercially or go after government contracts. Typically, they do down the latter's bunny trail, and they seem to lose their way every single time.
I believe it is CZ that acquired Colt. CZ is much larger than Colt. CZ did make quite a few changes to the lineup when they acquired Dan Wesson some years ago. The quality actually improved.
