So I ran across great pricing on new CZP10F's on gunbroker. I grabbed one for $349 +ship/tax..Daholenga Armory had them for $349 or so..hmmmm. So I went to CZusa website and see the MSRP has dropped to $399. Hmmm so I started checking around to see if P10F models are being discontinued. Oh boy lots of CZ stalwarts are being disco'd. Then I read about CZ/Colt taking over US operations for CZ . I know manuf's do refresh SKU's regularly, but the list of disco'd guns is very long this year. Should we be concerned? Thoughts?

CZ has been discontinuing models every few years. I remember how some years ago I was annoyed to discover that they had discontinued the CZ-83, not to mention CZ-75s in Stainless Steel or chambered in .40 S&W, because I wanted both a CZ-83 and a Stainless .40cal CZ-75.

My advice would be to buy anything you want that's being discontinued ASAP, while it's still available at affordable prices. The minute they've dried up, the idiot scalpers will start jacking up prices.

If it's true that Colt is taking over CZ's operations, I think that would be the worst possible news for CZ fans. Colt themselves are pretty scitzoid about what they want to do, sell guns commercially or go after government contracts. Typically, they do down the latter's bunny trail, and they seem to lose their way every single time.

Although the P10 series are fine guns, I get the impression that they were a little late to the party and maybe sales were less than expected. I have absolutely no data to draw from, other than I don’t see them much or hear much talk about them. I think something similar happened to Beretta with the APX line. Beretta had been offering deep rebates on APX.

Rebates have nothing to do with a product to indicate a product being discontinued. Just standard marketing 101. Rebates are used for many reasons, to include time of the year and on and on. The Beretta ARX series is very successful. They will be around for a long time.

What I see happening mostly, is some thinning of the variety of some models, such as selection of colors for the Cz P07 Frame, but no discontinuation of the P07, itself.
The one model that is going, that has a following, is the Cz97B. With the popularity of SA striker fired pistols becoming more dominant in the market, it's not surprising
that some thinning of the Hammer fired DA/SA models will happen.

As for Colt Management taking over US operations for Cz, they better have cleaned out the bad Management that lead Colt to ruin, should that be the case.
I would hope that Cz will expand and prosper, given our current economic conditions, which may also be a part of the decisions of their actions.

I've also noticed that some other Firearms Manufacturers have recently discontinued models that I liked. :(
In particular, Walther recently discontinued the P99AS.

Thinning the herd, Models that are not selling will be axed, that's inventory 101, sure they may have 1 -2 Models that do well in a particular line , but the rest? chopping Block, money sitting on the shelves as they say, Just like most manufactures do.

MY regular gun shop /range generally have several different configurations of the model 10 in stock, mostly because they can't get their hands on the metal framed CZ, especially the model 97.
they don't stick around in stock very long either.

well I have MOST CZ models that i want already, the say Model 97 in 10 MM would be one that i would purchase but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.
Honestly call me a CZ man because brand against brand that i own I would not trade my Cz for anything else, and i own quite a few different brands.
well made, great customer service, reliability!

"There is a shake up going on at CZ..Many models are being disco'd and COLT is taking over operations?????"

They're putting little white leisure suits on them?

Hopefully that's not the case as it's already been proven the leisure suits cause cancer.

It's hard to get a Model 97 because they have been discontinued.

Colt is not running things at CZ-USA. CZ-USA, Colt, Colt Canada, Dan Wesson and CZ-UB are all under the umbrella of Colt/CZ Group. Colt is not calling the shots - the business people at CZ-UB are far too canny to allow them to ruin things again.
As for discontinued items, it's all about the money, but also about the fact that the US factory is quite small, in Kansas City, and Colt is not spun up to produce most if not all CZ models yet...and CZ-UB in the Czech Republic has a LOT of military contracts to fill all of a sudden. Seems there is a war or something going on next door, and the neighbors are getting nervous.
