Well, I wanted to give my HiPoint 995 one last chance to see if it could pass the reliable feed test. Took it and the new Ruger PC 9mm Carbine to the range. Fired Remington 115gr JHP through the Hi Point provided 10 round mag, one misfeed. Fired 20 through a Red Ball, no misfeeds, fired 20 through my second Red Ball, three miss feeds. Put the Hi Point away. Pulled out the Ruger PC 9 and it ate the 115's and the SD Winchester 147gr JHP's without a hitch. So the HiPoint is going to the LGS on consignment next week. The Ruger is awesome, accurate, reliable, it does like the JHP's with smaller cavities, the Federal 147gr HST JHP cavities are too large for the Ruger, at least in my experience.

I would call hi-point. They'll probably have you send it in for a tune-up. They are the poor man's Ruger IMHO. Meaning they have a excellent service and warranty department.

I say this as unless you live in some weird part of the country where Hi-Points go up in value(?) You won't get much in resale of your 995TS.

Hi Free, and thanks for that advice. I have dealt with the CS of Hi Point and they are really really nice and generous. They have sent me numerous parts for free and more than I asked for. Also, lots of time discussing the magazine issues. Had I not already bought the Ruger I would send the gun in and all the magazines. I have read o the Hi Point blog of many people doing this and getting great results. I thought about doing today and am still thinking about it, lol. I really really like the HiPoint 995! It is a cool looking gun IMO, and feels great to shoot. I have a red/green dot site on it too. Very accurate. I may just send the whole thing back to HiPoint and see what happens. Meanwhile, I am loving the Ruger PC 9mm Carbine!
Thanks again, if I do send it back, I will let you know! (-:
