I really like the classic 4" with a partial underlug. Just quite simply the Maeserati of double action revolvers.

One of my biggest regrets in my gun hobby was trading my 1980 Model 19. I still miss it.

If there is a better-looking revolver than a 4" blued Smith Model 19, I haven't seen it yet. Carried its stainless brother (Model 66) as my service revolver back in the 1970's and liked that a lot, too, but the blued Model 19 just hits all the right points as far as 'great-looking' revolvers go. Knew a cop from another department who had a Model 19 that had the best trigger of any Smith revolver I ever shot. Tried many times to buy it from him but he was not about to part with it...and I don't blame him.

Had a 6" Colt Python that was pretty close for looks in my opinion but I would have preferred a 4" one.

I'd have one of these new 19's ASAP if I had not just bought a 686 recently.

I haven't bought a new firearm in a couple of years now. Being a recovering Smith&Wesson snob, I'd love to have one of the Model 19 Classics. Time to start saving up my allowance, and maybe ask for a raise!:D

Is the one on tap a 3" model? Damn, if so, I gotta have one!

Yep, 3 inch ported barrel. That's why they set the front sight back from the muzzle. I'd probably buy one if it wasn't for that, looks odd to me.

The forcing cone is a major improvement over the older 19-66's.

I kinda like the stainless version best.

I guess nobody likes 6" barrels anymore....*sigh*....

The thing that bothers me the most (visually) is the change in the contour of the frame @ the hammer. Don't care much for the lock either, but it's the frame shape that I spot first.

I'd like one in 4.25"! And I am so glad to see they are not stainless for a change! I'll keep an eye out for them around here.
