Okay guys, here's the deal. I just got off the phone with
Taurus USA customer service. I asked the lady if they
ever intend to produce the stainless version. She said
YES. I asked her when; she did not have that info.

She told me that Taurus in Miami is still awaiting the
plans to be sent from Brazil. She said as soon as Brazil
sends the stainless plans, they will start production. Heck!
I wish there were some way I could call Taurus in Brazil,
& ask them what the holdup is.

I'm gonna wait it out. I want that stainless 1911!

How about one of this sites founders contacting Taurus and ask them to join us as an official representitive for their company. This site has a ready-made base for their products. I bet that there are a whole buch of us chompin' at the bit waiting to give them our money when the products that we want become available. We might even be able to influence their marketing dept as to which products to concentrate on, and the features that we want.
On another site, I know that Armscore seems to have done this, in particular with thier 1911s.

I just came from that site, and I was checking on what the rep had to say! That is very cool brand building and I'm looking at one of their 1911s because of that. Taurus could learn from their example. Less speculation and excitement about what is really going on, you know when guns are actually shipping and they get feedback from the end user.

Compact Tactical by Armscor is calling my name..... Though I was wanting a SS compact Taurus noone knows anything or even if it ever will ship at all. Really liked/wanted the Taurus, but I may be giving up and moving on for a while.

I recently posted this on Taurus Talk. But anyway, everyone knows very well that Taurus
in Miami does not manufacture the firearms. They are done in Brazil. So, the lady who told me
about the "stainless plans" being sent to Miami, is just a bit of balderdash. I did not even bother
to tell her, that I know that Miami doesn't make the firearms.

I just wish the Miami folks would stop jerking us around with a bunch of lame excuses; & honestly
come out & tell us that they really don't know for sure, when & if the stainless versions will indeed
be produced. And, they are most likely being blasted with phone calls from all over the country,
from people asking for info. Anyway, that being said. I am still waiting.

I am also awaiting the stainless version, but I would rather wait a little while longer then have them rushed into production and have some issues with reliabilaty and quality. Seems to me that Taurus learned there lesson in hurring things into production, and then having to revamp them in a 2nd Gen model. they want to get it right the first time and I appreciate that from a company.

That's also one of my main concerns, Gray_Wolf. Having the funds available
when the stainless finally comes out, is definitely something to think about!
In the meantime, I'm looking at the Springfield XD's.

I would check this one out. I love Taurus but for the money this one has proven itself as very reliable.
Check out the armscor website.

The stainless models have been out for quite awhile now. I've had mine for 2 or 3 years, maybe longer. If you notice, this thread started way back in 2007, before they were introduced.

LOL - I'd reply, except that would bump the thread again.
Dang!
Pretend I'm not writing this.
