I assume it is the same as my Rossi 62A since the two companies merged.Just unscrew the knurled w/slot screw at the back of the receiver. It comes apart for easy
cleaning and can be put in a back pack for easy transport.
I am going to purchase a Taurus M62R SS from local gunshop in Bangkok. As far as I have been informed that the M62R and M62C were discontinued for some times. I am wondering how long such rifle was kept in the warehouse of the gunshop. I would appreciate if any one could give me the exact year when the M62R/C first and last produced.
I don't recall having any of that information here at Taurus Armed. You would have to contact Taurus to find out for sure.
From a little internet digging it appears those model 62s were discontinued about three or four years ago. Taurus still shows them on their website if you type "62" into the search window. It will show you the discontinued 62s.
Taurus website doesn't provide any e-mail address for overseas customers to contact them. That's the reason why I have to find such an info from somewhere though the Internet.
I have found some info mentioned that the model 62 pump action rifle was first produced in 2000 and the model 62 carbine was first produced in 2003. Similar source mentioned that Taurus discontinued the pump action rifle/carbine in 2005 and started to produce lever action rifle using the same model no. that appeared in Taurus' current catalog. I am not sure whether such info were reliable.
As long as I would get the NIB rifle from the gunshop, I don't mind how long Taurus model 62R SS that I am going to buy was stored in the warehouse. I am also considered myself lucky, Taurus model 62 pump action rifle/carbine are becoming rare even in the USA.
I beg your pardon,
I have just checked both Taurus' 2011 & 2012 full-line catalogs, there were no rifles included in both catalogs. I also searched for " rifle" in Taurus website and found that all calibers rifles were discontinued. It's a pity, isn't it?
