From all I have heard I it is identical except for the removal of the Taurus Security System.
Thank, that would explain it. Couldn't find it referenced at the Taurus website. From all I have heard I it is identical except for the removal of the Taurus Security System.
Not buying this. My understanding is that the action has not changed at all. Just a beefed up trigger safety blade and removal of the lock out (TSS).Appears to have lost the single action capability as well, since Bud's lists it as double action only.
No good reason to speculate. Companies screw this up all the time and have screwed up the pt111 g2's description before.Go to the website and look at the specs.
Not sure how you could tell what position the firing pin is in by dry firing but according to various sites that are selling them, the difference is that the firing pin on previous models was drawn rearward and this new system will not pull the firing pin back until the trigger is pulled.RScottie, did you not read what I said? I own a G2 and handled a G2C today. What LGS did you handle one at? I'd like to talk to them.
It is easy to tell how the trigger is working by dry firing. With the slide racked like a round being chambered, the trigger is very light, hits a small wall, then breaks. If you do nothing and pull the trigger again, the trigger resistance is much higher as it pulls the striker back before releasing it. So, it is very easy to tell what the striker is doing by dry firing. Not sure how you could tell what position the firing pin is in by dry firing but according to various sites that are selling them, the difference is that the firing pin on previous models was drawn rearward and this new system will not pull the firing pin back until the trigger is pulled.
