I have heard the dealer cost is roughly $170. How much does Taurus make on this??? Know the gun only sells $189 to 220 depending on the dealer.
Your explanation makes no sense. I just bought a Taurus Spectrum from Rural King for $119.99 and it is made in the USA. Heritage Rough Riders sell in the range of $120-$130 when they are NOT on sale and they are made in the USA. Heck, even Ruger sells a USA made SAA revolver (Wrangler) for under $200.Made over seas labor is next to nothing... Of course citizens there do not have our style of government There fishing without a license is a wrist/hand slapping offense and to enter their country illegally is prison time, here in the good ole USA it is totally backwards on top of slapping the hand for entering ILLEGALLY we give you free stuff like housing, insurance, welfare checks that the rest of our citizens PAY FOR and cannot get.
As with cars..."Made in USA" is loosely defined.Your explanation makes no sense. I just bought a Taurus Spectrum from Rural King for $119.99 and it is made in the USA. Yes, my guess is that a few components come in from Brazil. As with cars..."Made in USA" is loosely defined.
Edit: I looked up some numbers. The average monthly income in Brazil is roughly $400. But let's use the figures for the state that Taurus is located in. That's..
"Rio Grande do Sul stands out among the Federation Units as the fifth Brazilian state with the highest average per capita monthly income in the year 2010, with an amount of R$ 959.24. Concerning the average salary² for December 2016, according to RAIS, the State was in the fifth position among the Federation Units, with a figure of R$2,692. 58."
Using the higher number (average salary for workers with a contract), at roughly 4 $BR to the $US that's $673 a month.

I think they probably make most of the parts in Brazil, or at least the expensive ones (frames and slides), and assemble here.
