Taurus Facebook page
I was over at Taurus Facebook page today. I don't do Facebook, but I was curious about what someone said about the bashers over there. I noticed I see the same names a lot from the bashing side.
From my perspective, their page is a PR disaster. They really need to get off their backsides and do something. It's like they let a few trolls rampage and do nothing.
I hate to see what it will look like if the Spectrum is a disaster after people have waited so long.

I hate to see it as well, and I have a gun in Miami as we speak. They have had it a month +, and third communication is terrible. However I still have hope of getting my M82B4, back shooting as nice as it once did. In truth, it seems that Taurus is happy recently with being the "low price point" leader, instead of the "value leader", they should be. To make this change, it'll require a new vision in the company. Customers are more understanding if Taurus communicates with them. I recently dealt with Charter Arms Customer service, although not for a repair. The experience was 100% positive and night and day compared to Taurus. Don't misinterpret what I'm saying. We have two Taurus in my house and I my 2018 gun is leaning hard to a Taurus M44 4". But, only if I'm happy with my 82 results. Taurus has an opportunity to earn a customer, or lose one. I have high hopes, and would like to see Taurus do well. But that's in their hands.
taurus better do something quick or else they are gonna lose the budget handgun market. with companies like ruger producing less costly firearms with incredible service it will only be a matter of time before guns like the G2 and spectrum are irrelevant.
saw the lcp II for 199.00, the LC9S for 249.00, and the new Security 9 for 289.00.
at this pace their simply wont be any reason to by a Taurus other than for boutique colors and brand loyalty. especially when you consider their warranty issues. JUST SAYIN!

on another note - taurus really missed a golden oppurtunity with the G2. I told them this at both NRA and Shot Shows.
make the barrel a half inch longer, extend the grip a 1/2 inch and make it 15 rounds. lose the the DA trigger and sell it for 249.00 and you'll compete with the "holy grail" of carry pistols the G19. They just shook their head and nodded.

Talked to Taurus again today. The 6 week time I was initially told, is now 8weeks. No explanted, no apologizes. Thankfully, Facebook in general is such a wretched hive of scum and villainy that nobody really takes the place seriously anymore.
Honestly, even the "good people" on Facebook only use it to complain about minor annoyances in their day to day lives or overhype something "really amazing that happened last night!" without ever elaborating on what it was.
I started a Facebook Profile back in 2011 at the request of a woman I had been fixed up with, and the whole experience was so negative that it honestly played a big role in my decision to live a life of celibacy.
Seriously, the only "good" (and I use that term in a bitterly ironic sense) thing I can say about Facebook is that if you ever really want to know who someone really is, then their Facebook Profile (or lack thereof) will tell you everything you need to know. If the person in question lacks a Facebook Profile or otherwise has one which they abandoned without ever bothering to delete, then their likelihood of being a decent person is significantly higher than someone who has one which is used/updated frequently because most decent people get fed up with all of the negativity and stop going there or never made a profile to begin with due to negative experiences from visiting the profiles of others.

I've found the same thing. I've family that uses Facebook to gain sympathy from people. According to them and their post, I'm an evil, no good, worthless human being. As a fiend pointed out to me, he said that those posting, must mean I'm okay. It gives them something they have over me from their way of thinking as they all know I don't do Facebook. They posted last week that they heard my dad died. My dad was disappointed, he didn't get any flowers, nor did he get invited to his own funeral. He'll be 82 next Friday. My dad had fun with it for two days. He wasn't sure what time the funeral was scheduled for, but decided not to go even if he'd been invited.:devil:

Yep, that's pretty consistent with my own experiences in regards to Facebook. I heard through the grapevine that my estranged evil sister actually accused me of being a sexual deviant on Facebook, which is pretty hilarious seeing as I've been celibate since 2012 and most of my ex-girlfriends in the past complained that I was too much of a gentleman. Better yet, as near as I can figure the example she gave was a highly exaggerated version of instance in which I flirted with a friend of hers (whom my sister herself had been trying to fix me up with) at a party by joking that we should shower together. Apparently her friend found that comment threatening somehow and had told a grossly exaggerated version of the story in which is was presented as more of a demand than a proposition made in jest and my sister was so upset by it that she felt the need to share it on Facebook some 2+ years later, long after I had stopped using Facebook and swore off romance.I've found the same thing. That's actually pretty funny considering that an in-joke between my brothers is that our sister is a vampire who feeds on negative emotions and thus provokes negative emotions in others as a means to feed on them. In fact, I've often said that vampires are real, but that tales of them drinking blood was metaphorical due to the shear number of folks who seemingly cannot get enough drama, seeking it out feverishly to the point of artificially generating it themselves.It sounds like our sisters could be twins! As an afterthought, I think it has to do with the anonymity a person has when hiding behind a keyboard.
I would hate to imagination that some people are as rude, aggressive, opinionated and intransigent
in person as they are when they are at a keyboard.
I know a few people I could sure use an ignore button on. Maybe a 2X4 would be a viable alternative.......:blink:
You're no longer anonymous when you're posting from a social networking featuring your real name, age, occupation, contact information, etc. Many of the worst people I've seen on Facebook were either real life acquaintances of whom I could varify were who they claimed to be on their profiles or otherwise had profiles which seemed legit enough seeing as they were portrayed as nobodies with nothing outstanding or unbelievable about them.Oh my.........that is perfect.........:thumb:

Social Media is different from other places online, especially nowadays when many of them have begun requiring that you verify your identity before your profile can be finalized, (you can't even start a Twitter Profile these days without settling up 2 step verification with a cell phone) ergo you can't really remain truly anonymous when posting on Social Networking Websites.
So yeah, unfortunately a lot of the folks we're talking about are the most slanderous scum of the earth posting from their own profiles featuring their real names. In fact, my sister I spoke of earlier is so dumb that she actually had her home address and phone number listed on her profile, which she used to post lies from. Come to think of it, her personal information was one of the few legitimate things listed on her profile.
I keep my Facebook friends list very short, am very picky about who I let join.
Even then I have to "unfollow" some because of their opinions, if they want to read my posts, fine,
but I don't have to read theirs. They only show up on my page if they directly "tag" me.

Just looked at the Taurus Facebook page, and nothing there as far as complaints surprises me at all. It is the same thing I overhear, not just from the customers, but from some of the salespeople and gunsmiths also. And it goes like this: Why can't Taurus respond to those that have made complaints, not just on their Facebook page, but with their online chat and over the phone? Other companies respond and try to assist the customer. Seems Taurus either can not or will not respond to the customer from the posts I saw.
And then there is what I saw with regards to the 'settlement guns' and the treatment many have received over this long, drawn out affair.
Really makes me wonder about purchasing a Taurus firearm ever again.

Facebook may have started out with the best intentions but like all things good, it's been usurped and bastardized to push agendas. To stay current with the times, companies have to embrace the new technology or fall woefully behind. Taurus doesn't have a facebook issue. they have a basic business model issue and their facebook presence is just a symptom of that problem. If Taurus USA could spin off from Taurus international, they might be able to recover in 4-5 years. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I have always been a Taurus fan. However, I'm dealing with thier customer service for the first time. Honestly, it has degraded the value of the life time warranty for me. It's doesn't mean I won't buy another Taurus as of yet. But I am itching for a .44 and as much as I like the M44, other brands will get a hard look, and maybe my business. My last snubby was a Charter Arms, & I'm 100% happy with mine.
