Thinking of an intermediate (38 SA +-570 joules)caliber between the 38 Special (+ - 330J) and the 357 Magnum (+-720J).
And using the 856 as a base (original photo)

I believe an 856, with a shorter drum (edited photo) and a little less weight.

or even with a shorter frame (edited photo, forgive my amateurism)

could be a good option for a revolver, don't you think?

In this video I use the 3 ammunition in the Tracker M327
And I think the 38 SA would be a great choice for as a middleman.

I am looking at the executive model in 38 special and +p. It looks like it's better made them the regular 856 the fit and finish is much better also it's made by a gun Smith not mass produced.
