Suffered.....and corrected a major Taurus failure this morning. My 7 year old Taurus Tracker Model 425, 41 Magnum was being reluctant to rotate the cylinder, sometimes; sometimes in DA, and sometimes in SA. No distinct pattern of reluctance, just occasionally. I noticed this morning that the firing pin was free floating. Disassembled, removed the firing pin, looked for spring, no spring, looked again, used a fish tool to probe, no spring, used a magnet, no spring. Well Hell. I went for my box of miscellaneous springs, found one about 3" long, moderate tension and it was the perfect size to fit in the firing pin recess. Cut of a couple coils and mounted it on the firing pin, UGH, to much, won't allow firing pin to protrude sufficient to strike primer. Removed and cut spring; tried it. UGH!!! too much won't retract the firing pin. Disassembled once again, cut another spring midway in length between the two previously tried. Huzzah, huzzah!!! it works, IT WORKS!!!! Life is good!!!!
